Reincarnation

I am not the writer. I am not the author.
This was created before my time.
I am not the son. I am not the father.
These were created before my time.
A strange event happens when a person is born,
Their body unites with a soul.
A soul has seen everything a thousand times before,
Yet the body begins anew. It knows nothing.
If I were the writer, then why have all these words been said before?
If I were the author, then would I have not created these original ideas?
If I were the son, then would I not recognize my own parents?
If I were the father… well then, I would be as old as time itself.
