Religion
These kings parade our streets
As if stones cant be thrown at them
They walk into our homes clad in majesty
We are seduced to silence by the scents they wear
Incense mixed in gin and powder
These kings take our women from us
What they did to 'em we never know
But they've never been the same ever since
Solomon again?
Let my wife be!
We follow in the footsteps of our masters.
We are soldiers of our own
We Create our own enemies
With just one aim
Plunder, rape, ballyrag, and take over their lands
We follow in the footsteps of our teacher
He wants us to multiply and own the world
Everything therein
He wants us to create more souls
We are doomed if we don't
Succour master I want to inherit your kingdom
Teach me the letters in your words
Wield me your shield, I'll fight for your weakness
We want Others to be like us
And we are not even us
Rumi says every wine can get you high
So behave like a king and choose the purest
Be religious enough
If Mohammed was alive
Would he want Jesus dead?
About this poem
The Europeans came to Africa matching like kings, introducing their white gods, with gifts, they lured away our tradition, stole the grace of the African woman, and in their religion we are divided to fight each other, and to fight for a God, who is all powerful. We preach what we are not, and with a mission to conquer especially religions that aren't like ours.
