Not Done To Do Before

There has been many things,
Living to do it brings.
Some unintended not to mean.
Although lessons to learn,
Are seldom returned to replace them.
Ongoing in this unending process.

And at the age of 74.
Not to have done this to do before.
I have noticed how pointless it is,
To make attempts to convince...
My experiences to live and have them.
Personally.
Has a lot to do with my ignoring advice.
Although to welcome it not solicited.
From those who refuse to accept or believe...
At the age of 74 to not have done this before,
Little attention to others I give.
About how I should think or express,
My honesty and truth.
To be appropriately exchanged.
Without offending anyone.

To leave those who 'assume' they know...
Based upon fiction and delusions taught.
What they have yet to experience to live.
Yet often have their mouths open.
When they should close them to listen!
But remember I do to reminisce,
There had been a time...
Elders were respected with 'awe.
Just for living as long as they did.
And appearing capable to remain sane!

'May I ask you a question?'

'Sure.
Go right ahead.'

'How do you manage to remember,
Being young and youthful?
You hand around young people,
To keep yourself reminded of it?'

'No.
Trust me.
There is nothing today's youth do,
And get away with doing.
That remotely reminds me of my childhood.
Believe me...
I would not have lived this long to age!
