Frame By Frame

Situations change, as do my dreams
the scenery changes, so do those themes
resonance of morning memories cluttered
partitions of my visual windows shuttered
extensions into sleep, nightmares must creep
some pleasant, some annoying, some to keep
I lay my head to rest, on another dream quest
different stages, always unexpectedly guessed
intervening always without any meaning
preexisting twisting, towards it I'm leaning
now playing roles with interactions
cognizant of the other players reactions
first I let it go, then turned it into a show
thousands of effortless nights I know
no rewinds, no replays, none the same
scratchy morning notes later do I claim
persistent as the shadow from the sun
something is there, with the meaning of none
dreams, I do not make, harmless to awake
cast in from the fence or not, I do partake
