Distortions

Born with eye's wide open bright
information streaming in through eyeball site
no time to adjust, just time to react
all functioning parts are completely intact
not yet sure of the adventures ahead
birth to death, time warp travelers, shred
am I at the half way marker?
Misty eyed nightfall dreams, becoming darker
now and again feelings of deja vu
my mind here before, body yet to pass through
midlife crisis, tells me hindsight blind
thoughts of emotional feelings intertwined
difference of concerns from youth
knowledge of yesterdays lies from the truth
enlightened mindful visionary scrapes
all things from nothing, taking on shapes
foretold as impact present time
past and future, ages of my prime
gone from it all, who would ever know me
to live to have, or is it just alive to be
