I was 12/13 years when I needed to and did write this

I have a peace inside me;
It beckons me so,
To follow and to listen
Wherever it may go.
I have a peace inside me; and
Without it I’d be lost.
But like a ship upon the sea
Sometimes my mind is tossed.
Waves crash down around me;
The sky turns dark and deep,
My eyes they fight to close me
Into an eternal sleep. But
I have a peace inside me,
Whispering to be heard,
Quietly screaming:
Lift your arms
And fly just like a bird.
