Analysis of Bleak Day
Mark Smith 1963 (United States)
The day is dark and beckons bleak
Its somber theme depresses me
I cannot see the hope so bright
that must be just beyond my sight
Tis sad when life holds no reward
but offers forth mere emptiness
I long to feel the sun and light
To experience earth's sweet bliss.
Its there I know within my reach
If I could only muster strength
I could obtain this perfect prize
Oh Lord to you my prayer beseech
