Analysis of Eternity

Misty Johnson 1983 (Jonesboro,AR)

They had a love so rare, in a time not so fair. Both young, hearts on fire, a love they knew would never tire. They built a life and he asked her to be his wife. He loved her beauty it was so bare, she loved him without a care. Even if the world was against them, she stood beside him. You’d never knew that she was sick but the cancer took her way too quick. No time to really prepare, taken away their future to share. For their kids he had to go on, he had to be strong. The emptiness he felt inside he didn’t show, he didn’t want anyone to know. For nine years she’s waited on the other side, now they run hand in hand in the fields so wide. His smile never was the same after she was gone, now I know it’s a mile long. She’s no longer in pain, he’s no longer going insane. They balanced each other just right, it was love at first sight. Losing them hurts me deep, makes it hard sometimes to sleep. But I know they’re together now and forever, just the way they wanted to be. A love like theirs will always be, eternity.
