Analysis of Unknown Father

Jo Wooding 1970 (Auckland)

Born to be alive
Born to be free
Born to love
Born to be me

I may not know you
And you may not care
But its thanks to you
My existence is here

You don’t know I exist
I doubt you ever will
Im a peace with this
My heart standing still

She told me the story
I don’t know if its true
She said you raped her
Nothing she could do

I came into the world
On September four
She gave me up
She could do no more

Do I look like you
Do I have your eyes
Did she tell the truth
Or fill me with lies

I hope you are well
And had a great life
With a nice wee family
And a loving wife

I wish I knew your name
So I could track you down
To meet your daughter
Not bring you a frown

Find out my history
My heritage or tribe
Just wanna know
So I can feel my vibe
