Analysis of A Mother's Lament

It was just a summer day
When you came into my life
You were molded from the clay
And your daddy, he had strife

You know I have you
Holding your hand
You left and you flew
Hoping you’ll land

I only have a few seconds
So here I begin to beckon
You’ll stand there and you will reckon
You can’t go just for a second
You’ll try and defy the odds
You’ll try and dignify god
You’ll try and say imma fraud
But you destroy the facades

We can meet again somewhere
Up there in that big wide air
Let me be free from down here
I just want to disappear.

You know I have you
Holding your hand
You left and you flew
Hoping you’ll land

I only have a few seconds
So here I begin to beckon
You’ll stand there and you will reckon
You can’t go just for a second
You’ll try and defy the odds
You’ll try and dignify god
You’ll try and say imma fraud
But you destroy the facades

It was just a summer day
When you came into my life
And I’m glad you're here today
