Analysis of Vietnam Memorial
Black gray wall reflecting
In the sun...
Names and faces mirrored in
secular incisions-
We too will be there
Perhaps not the hideous crime
Mankind imprints his pride
And humble dust.
Captives in our weakness
And lack of trust-
Is that as far as we can come...
Is the sword secured around our waist ?
Tell me...We can go further
As distance and time bring
Out more hurts.
What does it all mean
As we hear the silent screams
A new place and a new face.
Tell me we can go further
Than into stone
Or are we owed symbols proud
That speak too loud
As our true heart
Controlled by righteous idols -
As our true heart
Controlled by righteous idols
Whimper in the silent wind.
