Analysis of The Lid

Twist and turn ...I'm in that urn
could'n,t help it ...had a burn
too much gold ...a little white
owed too much ...got in a fight
they were right ...I was wrong
sell your life out ...for a song.

Pretending I was off the stuff
I just couldn't get enough
started off with just one pill
then I slowly went down hill
It will be the death of me
that is why ...I'm on this spree
smoke it, snort it ...spike it all
tonight ...I'm having me a ball
I know I say ...must let it be
It's up to me ...to set me free.
