Analysis of Temptation
Demonic eyes
stared into mine
under the cover
of blackened skies.
He probed into my heart, my mind,
trying to find my deepest desires
but find them he did not
for I'm happy with what I've got.
He tried to tempt me with earthly treasure
he tried to seduce my mind
I'd been tempted before, I couldn't be lured,
I knew of the heartache and pain it caused.
He showed me a world of peace and love
but I'd seen destruction and genocide
I broke my gaze, I turned away,
I sank to my knees and started to pray.
"Father, can you hear me,
I passed temptations test
I resisted the promise of passion and wealth
I chose love instead".
