Analysis of She Had An Eye
A glass eye surgically implanted.
Purely cosmetic.
They did not dare tell me the truth.
Purely plastic.
In a blazing fire the night grew older.
Over time, the progress higher.
Ambitions aside, I tried.
Now, forever sealed are my eyes.
Adhesively shut.
Never to be opened.
Like smoke filled airways.
Not a breath to exhale.
It was not my fault.
It was not that bad.
There was no real use,
I never truly opened my eyes before.
Melted plastic is a lot to lose,
but searing eye sockets are a lot to gain.
On the brink, I am shocked to say
a musical suite made me smile.
I heard the music,
but not that of the mourning violinist.
No, it was but of the dancing parade.
The one of my grave.
