Analysis of In my Shoes
Every morning when I wake,
I feel like I'm about to break,
dreading to take on another day,
feeling like I am in the way.
I have always felt unaccepted in the world,
treated like nothing but the different girl.
My path feels like an obstacle course,
like my fate is being taken by force.
Sometimes I just want to give up,
because nothing I do seems good enough.
I am surrounded by ridicule and hate,
which has caused my miserable state.
If only people would understand,
and reach out with a helping hand.
Instead they look at me as if they're blind,
rejecting and leaving me behind.
I have been battered and torn down,
humiliated, heartbroken, and tossed around.
If I had the opportunity I would choose,
for the world to live a day in my shoes.
