Analysis of First Love
Your sweet and ravishing words
teased my naive mind
as did your tender touch,
the warm embrace in which I was held.
Loyal and true-- like the undying light
descending from the heavens
you seemed to always be there
as a reassurance of our incessant mutual love.
Like a forsaken and admiring child
I was tethered to you,
your Herculean construction,
your unparalleled beauty.
Awakened was I
by the discordant concept of reality--
you did not love me--
merely a triviality I was to you and nothing more.
Now I comprehend that which I should have grasped before--
my young juvenile mind and soul both needed you
and I believe that you needed me too.
