Analysis of Do They Know It's Christmas

It's Christmas time again and as I step outside that door
All I see is Joy and Happiness and children playing in the snow
As I walk on ahead I see young couples dancing with love in the air
And people drinking and partying all night, but not one of them did care
About that little boy on the road with no shoes on his feet
As I walked up to him and looked into his eyes .. A tear rolled down his cheek

So I talked to him as he softly said that he waited for Santa all night
To give him what he wished for cause it was the thing he loved the most in his life
I thought to myself that like every child it could be a toy or a bike
Then I held his hand and walked him home down the lonely street filled with lights
A few blocks away and there stood his house all quiet and so dark
Not a single light, no sign of Christmas.. not even a tiny spark

It seemed like no one lived there but on the bed I was shocked to see
Lying right there was his mother with her face as pale as it could be
I knew right there that she needed help, but that's when he said these words
“The last thing she said was that she'll be gone but maybe Santa could  bring her back here”
All that while I kept thinking why he waited for Santa and what could that gift be
Not a toy, not a bike… but what he wanted the most lay dead right there in front of me

I guess that showed me what Christmas really meant, not the dancing and partying that we see
But what some people out there do not have and if they did ..what a Christmas it would be !
With the millions of people like the lights on our tree, a few of them don't burn on Christmas night
If only we shared our happiness with them that spark could make their Christmas so bright
You see Christmas is not about the lights on our tree or going to a late night Christmas ball
But to lend a hand to those with nothing to eat cause… Do they know it's Christmas at all ? …..
