Analysis of Darkness

darkness surrounds you
like thick smoke
taking the air and light
you try to find the way out
only to find yourself lost

the darkness is lonely and cold
few find the deepest depths
fewer find the light the long for
like puppets in the night
we search for the path with no avail

darkness consumes you
breeds bitterness and fear
eats at you until you are numb
until will power is no more

you pray for the light
hope it will lead the way
instead it runs from you
leaving you vulnerable
for whatever may come

it subdues you weighs you down
you plead and beg for help
no one helps they only watch
watch you fail and suffer
in the eternal pit of darkness
