Analysis of Bells that call us home
Fleeting youth among a Hospice care
A downward struggle
Within this human frail frame
The mind although very easy to persuade
The heart another matter
It refuses to age
Pulsing and beating
As I cling to this earthly life
Drifting, now floating, for youth, for spirit
Another glimpse into your eyes my dear wife
Morning comes, again I wake, doctors too,
Drugs again! Must I partake?
Straining to reach
Reach out and grasp your fragile hand
Before these lucid, temporal medicines
Send me back to the past
Another time and another land
Where cinnamon apple pie aromas begin to fill
Chasing our small children
Running, tickling and laughing
By your hands bells clanging
Through the kitchen's window sill
Dinner calls and the cows come home
It's time to leave the plow
The day is done and the sun goes down
Tomorrow another field I will till
Our family is our happiness
Twilight comes and evening scriptures too
As our treasures start to gather round
To hear the prophets
Through God's words and then we pray
With the holy Spirit among a home sweet home
Jesus Christ in us all, He is found
Once again my mind returns to you
And with a new hope that it is time to depart
As we shall leave these tabernacles behind
This flesh from clay has worn out
But, our spirits live on
Like the love within the heart.
The sealing power is upon us
And we know that our children are well
God is now calling us to His Heavenly palace
Waiting with open arms
And ringing out to you and I His "Homecoming bell"
