Analysis of Amongst the Dirt I'll Drink the Sun.
Sober-hearted, Love-departed
Tonight's the night I die.
As willowed depths reach out for breath
I crouch to give them mine
A harrowed place alight with death
I smile to know it's time.
I've tried to learn these lesson's lost
And reach for greater “warmth”
I've bled for every pain, my cost
For expecting ever more.
And nevermore my breath will come
Reminding me I'm me,
Amongst the dirt I'll drink the sun
And flowers I'll soon be.
They'll breathe the air without a care,
Their host of ample soil
A life I think is rather fair,
The last gift of my toil.
