Analysis of A Night of Long Ago
Not in a noisy inn,
but in a quiet stable
was a baby born,
not in a royal court,
but in stillness of thought
does Truth enter in.
The shepherds saw the vision,
humility beheld the sign-
a herald of a birth,
foretold by prophets long ago,
unfolding now before their eyes.
A star, afar and lone traversed the night,
on earth heaven's glory came to sight.
