Analysis of A Fan (2)
Many years ago, my wife and I went to see Merv
(God bless his soul), and forever I will be indebted
To him for instantly making me a fan, "numero uno"--
For life of his musical guest that night named
Roger Whittaker, and I am mighty proud of the fact.
Yesterday, the man hosting
"The Late-late Show" blew me away...
Totally. And I say--candidly and honestly that
For however long or short time I have left
In this "big screen" called life,
I am "hooked" as a fan for life.
And that is coming from a bloke who is
Not a fan of a whole lot of things--mundane
And of people in the like of stars "glowing"
In the pages of tabloid and gossip magazines.
