Analysis of Country Nightmare

Torn and twisted like a
tornado,
I feel like jello my mind
turned to play-dough.
Eyes of the devil blinding
and painful,
my sins haunt me for i am
shameful.
An old barn sits weathered
and bare,
Splinters and nails the wounds
that we share.
In the backyard a tombstone
dwells,
Engraved on the back a story
it tells.
Here lies a soul a master of
madness,
withered and weary nothing
but sadness.
He lived his life right on the
edge,
Of some great cliff right on
the ledge.
Decisions he made broke
him in two,
More than one so that makes
a few.
He wouldn't slow down, he
wouldn't stop.
Always messed up on
whiskey and pop.
So many lies and so much
deceit,
He wouldn't quit or accept
defeat.
He'd give you the finger and
cuss you out,
He'd play you like a fiddle
and hear you shout.
He doesn't really care,
he never did.
Childish demeanor just like
a kid.
The lost and damned, crashed
and burned,
So many lessons he should've
learned.
Ten feet down in the ground
he lays,
Always and forever in the
ground he stays.
The story in question engraved
on the back,
Of that old tombstone next to the
shack.
Was only a nightmare only a
dream,
My minds in the dark, death
was the theme.
I turn back time to here
in the present,
Still a chance to change and
make things pleasant.
Engraved on the back of
that old tombstone,
Is an untold story ready
to be shown.
In the land of the living
where i still exist,
I must accept defeat, I
shall not resist.
It was only a dream and
nothing more,
A slap in the face, and now
it is sore.
I'm wide awake and fully
aware,
God that nightmare gave
me a scare.
