Analysis of Angry black man

Sarah Hamilton 1980 (United States)

For my brothers and their struggles.....I understand.
People hate and doubt the power you possess
And quickly categorize you as an angry black man.
But really, does it have to come down to this?;
Every other race, concerned and scared.
when all you’re waiting for, is that one moment of bliss.
First, it was because of the way you expressed yourself,
and the music that you make.;
But don’t they realize that your words are real
and you’re only hated, for NOT being fake.;

You're judged for the life you were given and the color of your skin.;
Your background is Kings and Queens,
Slaves and thieves but you're not the victim.
If they sat and listened to your words and your lyrics,
and what you speak about.
They would understand, you feel trapped and neglected
because you refuse to sell out.
