Analysis of The Night Sky
Brendan Lam 2003 (Ontario)
When I see the moon,
I think of you
We laughed and smiled all night long;
You forgave me even when I was wrong.
You've made me so happy,
yet feel so crappy.
You've helped me face my fears,
yet you caused me so many tears.
I thought you were the one,
until you said we're done.
A part of me has died,
as I sat there feeling alone.
As time passed,
it never felt so fast.
You said you needed time and space,
when all I wanted was an embrace.
I have accepted the hard truth,
as I wished we had more time in the photo booth.
As I say goodbye,
I hope one day we'll go back to watching the night sky.
