Analysis of I am Woman
What determines the beauty of a woman
Is it her soft grace when she speaks
The way her hand moves to her chest when she laughs
Is it the way she controls the room
Demanding attention with every echo of her high heels
Is it the way she nurtures her children
Empathetic to their needs
Sympathetic to their wounds
Is it the way she lightly scolds them
One small look and even the rotten becomes edible
Is it the way she loves
With everything she has
Fighting the good fight
Even fighting the bad ones
Is it the curve of her back side
The broadness of her hips
And the fullness of her lips
Is it the way her hair cascades down
Or maybe sit short in soft curls
Accentuating her eyes
Is it the way she cares
Cries for the needy and the undeserving
Yet stands strong in times of weakness
Is it her charm
To engage a room with ease without skipping a beat
Leaving no hand unshaken
Or hug not given
Is it the way she smiles
Lights up a whole block
Turns the darkest of days
Into the brightest of lights
Is it her boldness
Daring to be heard
Yet subtle in her approach
Standing behind her man
To protect his back
Leaving hers exposed
Is it the way she carried a child
Belly protruding with life inside
Yet she appears to walk around as if
She’s walking on air
And carrying life
Was the easiest thing to do
On a Tuesday
Is it the way she prays
Proclaiming her love of God
Delivering scriptures to the believers
Never losing faith
In a higher power
Is it the way she cooks
Meals made from the soul
Cooked with love, joy,
And sometimes pain
But hidden in the valley of taste buds
Of pure savory goodness
Is it the way she chuckles at herself
For being forgetful
And sometimes foolish
An inside joke that she only shares with herself
Is it the way men look at her
When her hair is pretty
And bottom sits out
And lashes are full
And eyes are seductive
Is it when she cries
Cause it’s only done in private
But the pain is so evident
At the same time
Is it because she’s powerful
Holds so many titles
Is it the way she forgives
Even though it hurts
The only way to freedom
To give it to someone else
How do u determine the beauty of a woman?
She just is.
