Analysis of You Will Move
Brian Jermaine Flax 1983 (Oakland CA)
You will move, get out of my way.
I refuse to let you drop stumbling blocks in my pathway today.
You will move. You will not stop me from achieving anything that I want to achieve. Now, you may think that you have the upper hand. But, don't celebrate too fast, because I still have a few more tricks up my sleeve.
You will move. You will not inhibit me from reaching my goal. Heaven has my back and my savior has my soul.
You will move. I refuse to let you rain on my parade.
Because you see, I'm walking towards the sunshine...and when I get there, I'm going to lay down and rest in the shade.
If you're a mountain, I will move you.
If you're a brick wall, I will knock you down.
I will break up the negative vibes that you send my way, as if I were a Jack Hammer and they were the ground.
Lord knows that I've been tested and I've had to endure and over-come a lot of pain and frustration.
But, at the very moment that I was sure that pain and frustration would take me over and pull me under, I remembered one simple phrase...and that is "Adversity is the birth of inspiration."
So, yeah, you're going to move. You've tried so many times to discourage or deter me and you've done so, with no success.
Well, you can keep trying and keep trying and keep trying until your head hurts. But, you're going to fail, just like all the rest.
YOU WILL MOVE! Because I have encountered and conquered obstacles that were a million times bigger than you. So, instead of sitting around trying to dream up ways to bother me or get my attention, why don't you find something else to do.
There will be no bad notes in my symphony and the road that I travel will continue to stay smooth.
I over-came obstacles
I over-came adversity
And I over-came you.
I told you that you were going to move.
