Analysis of Society’s Destruction
Gabby Everett 2000 (Tennessee)
Our society is screwed.
This generation is no longer renewed.
We’re no longer accepted for who we want to be.
And always judged for the flaws that everyone sees.
We can’t accept the fact that nobody’s perfect.
So we try to make everyone else feel like they’re worthless.
To the point where they wanna die,
popping pills just to heal the pain inside?
But it’s all for attention, right?
All the scars you can’t see,
& all the pain hidden beneath.
“Attention whore” is what they say.
But see nothing to make them think that way.
What have we become?
Smoking cigarettes?
Selling drugs?
What happened to the good ole’ days?
Where there were no worries,
and everything was okay.
There wasn’t a care in the world,
& you felt comfortable in your own skin.
But now you feel like you’re never good enough,
So you’re sinning,
just to fit in?
Disappointing yourself,
you turn to drugs hoping that it helps.
Next thing you know,
you’re out of control.
Losing everybody you thought would always be there.
But now you see them out,
& they just stare.
Is this what you want?
Is this who you are?
A pill head who ain’t getting very far?
Well this is what we’re coming to.
Pot heads,
Druggies,
& alcoholics too.
We need to make a change
& accept the fact that not everybody is the same.
Accept each other for who they are
& stop judging one another
because we’ve all got bruises and scars.
Everybody makes mistakes.
But now is the time we need to make an effort to change.
