Analysis of You're on yours, I'm on mine

Early Winter night, wind blew strong, sleet fell fast.
Shimmer and scent of sweet candles lit.
Soft music, sitting on one end, you on the other.
Glance in your eyes made time stand still.
Talked softly about nothing at all. Promise of a kiss like no other.
Ran my fingers playfully through your hair.
Touch along the side of your face.
Knew this is where we were meant to be.
You reached to me with a soft gentle touch.
Your finger tips run softly on my arm. Slid your hand into mine.
Pulled me towards you, took you in my arms.
Looked deep in your eyes, anticipation upon your face.
Pulled me closer our lips met. So many years ago, seems like only yesterday. Promises and passions we two had shared.
That was than this is now, you're on yours I'm on mine.
Two ships passed through a life time, not just a night.
That was than this is now, what about now?
Has the sail been set, has our ship passed us by?
Is there time to set the course straight?
What was than seems so long ago, time slips away.
Time just seems to slip away, where has it gone?
