La bourrique luisante et forte
Brait tous les jours, à la même heure,
Devant la rustique demeure,
De la plus lamentable sorte.

Ses hi-han disent : « Je suis morte
De soif ! un peu d’eau ! la meilleure ! »

Et ma foi ! le seau qu’on lui porte
N’est pas un de ceux qu’elle effleure :
