Analysis of Triumphant Believers
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
What shall we say about these things,
If God is for, who is against;
Because of the blessings He brings,
For the goodness that has been sensed.
He who did not spare His own Son,
But gave Him us up for us all;
Triumph over sin has been won,
Since Adam did take the first fall.
He graciously gave us all things,
So who would then charge God’s elect;
Anyone to their faith that clings,
Justified who He did select.
Christ Jesus is the One who died,
More than that, He was also raised;
Those who worship the crucified,
Sing joyous songs that His is praised.
He sits at the right hand of God,
Who makes intercession for us;
And reason we honor and laud,
Being an advocate as thus.
Who shall separate us from His love?
Shall tribulation or the sword;
Distress or nakedness thereof,
Famine or peril be ignored.
For Your sake we are being killed,
Just like the sheep to be slaughtered;
Spirituality unfulfilled,
Feeling disgraced and have tottered.
In all these things we can rejoice,
I am sure neither death nor life;
Because of making the right choice,
Able to tolerate the strife.
Not of past, present, nor future,
Can separate us from the Lord;
Because we are His new creature,
And are being in one accord.
