Analysis of CRY GRACE
Barry Green Jr 1973 (Florida)
Tried to run down this same old road
Crashing through dreams once held
Lost my hope as despair hits overload
Against injustice I vainly rebelled
Cry havoc, the bard once wrote
Is it true that the dead will float,?
I cried for those I thought I lost
At every bend, it seems another fell
Don't know if I can bare the cost
Sometimes winning is its own Hell
Raise the cry, trudge forward, battle on
Why fight when your hope is gone?
And I fought, like an epic hero in a tale
Every victory tore me apart inside
Even as I moved I knew I'd have to fail
My foundation broke with shrapnel of pride
Despair's wail broke the silence of the night
I was blinded to hope's faded light
When I fell, it was before the Cross
I saw defeat claim victory's place
And as He hung He took my loss
And replaced despair with Grace
"It is finished!" My Lord cried
And blew away the dust of my pride
When He rose, so rose I, made new
On Faith a new foundation He built
Down a new narrow rode I flew
Outpacing the rage of sin and guilt
Now I cry ," hosanna!" As I fight in Grace
So that all may come and seek His face
AMEN

About this poem
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 2 Corinthians 12 9
