Analysis of Motions of Our Greed
Motions of Our Greed
©2024 Bob Atkinson
so much for those who pine
for emotional release in times of crime
never ending passions clasp
one’s heart when filled with wilder acts
greed takes many forms in time
wanting, craving, stealing blind
some constructs one might never own
such as possessions elsewhere grown
I feel some things cannot be bought
honor, passion, or deepness of thought
my character I wish to build
upon a rightness of honored ideals
things not earned I’ll never crave
only that for which I’ve skimped and saved
don’t want to lose those possessions such
or
take from another what isn’t mine to touch
