Analysis of Forethought of grief
The world's despair grows in me,
in the middle of the night I wake,
at the least once or twice,
surges of fear rushing through,
fear of life and unborn children's lives.
Maybe, I should go and lie down,
where the wood drake rests,
in his beauty on the water,
and the great heron feeds,
and watch the night sleep and snore.
Alas, what a beauty?
I come into peace of these wild things,
they do not tax their lives with forethought of grief,
in the presence of the still water,
I learn calmness and quiet.
There is an assurance and resurgence,
as i feel above me the day behind,
blind stars waiting with their light to dim,
and ahead sunshine.
Morning will meet me here,
in the presence of still water,
with elation I will greet myself,
When I arrive at my own door,
in my own mirror i will smile at my welcome,
and say, "sit here, Eat, You will never see a better yesterday again,
give wine, give bread, give your heart to her,
to that stranger who has loved you all your life,
The one you ignored for another unknowingly,
she knows you by heart,
now take down her love letters from the bookshelf of your heart,
the photographs, the desperate notes,
Are you done?
Now peel your own image from the mirror,
Sit and have a glass of wine,
Cheers to life without fear,
Cheers to life with love".
