Analysis of Love Betrayed, Tough Love

In the echoes of a New Year's eve,
I find myself in a reflective reprieve.
This year, a chapter of trials and tears,
One of the worst, amplifying my fears.

No longer a giver, a selfless devotee,
For in my heart's giving, pain's guarantee.
Returned to me, black and blue,
Love's betrayal, a painful hue.

How can one claim love, yet inflict the pain,
Actions contradicting the words they feign?
Henceforth, my love reserved,
For my children, faithfully preserved.

No comparison to the love I share,
For those who once claimed, now unaware.
Leeches draining, leaving me bare,
Fingers pointing, in judgment's snare.

Lessons etched in the fabric of time,
2024, a boundary, a paradigm.
No more for others, only tough love,
Reserved for my children, a gift from above.

In the realm of opposites, love's decree,
No counterpart to the love within me.
A conclusion drawn, a solemn vow,
Only for my children, I bestow.
