Analysis of Free Once Again

It's calm now.
I stick out my teeth
And grind the bars.
I want out of jail.
Even though I didn't
Pay the bail.

I was arrested
For a crime
I didn't commit.
This is worse than
My own vomit
And tastes vile like bile.

“Let me out of these bars!”
I say. The guard comes
And looks at me,
As if I'm an alien from Mars.
But could he truly know
That I'm different from other people?

That I'm innocent and a man
From the high steeple?
A church from the highest perch?
Yes, I was right,
So I sang my song,
And a tale that would never fail,

That I am born again
And Jesus is my highest rock
And he could save me from this lock.
Jesus Christ is my fortress.
I said to the priest I Confess.

And thanks be to God
Police found the true culprit
And I was free once again.
