Analysis of He said give no penny
Heather Lydia Thornhill 1981 (Manchester)
He said give no penny
That it would be drunk into the night
So she gave him her gloves
Unnoticed but for her shivering sight
He said give no penny
So she gave a woolen snood
And her toys for his mysteriously
large travelling brood
He said give no penny
So she threw him a pie
To which he offered
A cheeky smile
He said give no penny
So she gave their first coat
That he now wore for her
Sixteen years after they met
