Analysis of Fire Woman

If they want me to burn,
Burn is what ill do,
Even if im standing alone,
At least I know ill be burning with truth.
They can turn their heads & cheeks and continue to mock,
Spewing their lies about me,
Their seething and hateful ignorance,
They continue to talk.
I never claimed to be of perfection,
Cause I was flawed as most,
So if you must unjustly burn me again,
Allow me one final toast.
I do promise you as I go up in these flames,
That I will be relieved to be free of these old, rusted chains.
If my demise makes you believe you have been justified,
The day will come when you yourself will have to face the fact you all are living a lie.
Let me go out with just a wee bit of pride,
Ill go knowing that my children knew that their mother always tried,
And they knew when I told them I loved them,
That I never lied.
So light me up then,
If that's what you wish,
Im going out with one last nod
And a blow of a kiss.

About this poem

This poem is about how I was unfairly judged, made out to be a beast and a horrible human by the very ones who were just that.
