Analysis of closing notes
Dull grey, soft blue, and a touch of pink,
All colours muted in the haze.
Time strewn upon the soft, white sand,
Slowly the hours, so quickly the days.
Splashing through the shallow waves,
Playing out our gentle ruse,
Panting, laughing as we run,
A race to nowhere, and nothing to lose.
Your hand brushes against mine,
And the moments freeze;
Languid, unmoving in time,
Like gulls against a steady breeze.
Far away, upon the rocks,
A lighthouse painted red and white,
Spreads across the evening sky,
A shimmering, flickering, wistful light.
These are the closing notes of my life,
The colours grey and blue.
A world away from the world without,
But a world with you.

About this poem
I wrote this when I was 20 (back when love was still a simple thing). Inspired by two beaches in India called Kapu and Palolem.
