Analysis of Out of Jealousy
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
I hope that you will bear with me,
Bear with me with some foolishness;
I feel a divine jealousy,
Been betrothed with this blessedness.
Being betrothed to one husband,
With being a pure virgin to Christ;
And the way that God did command,
In thirty years be sacrificed.
I fear that the serpent deceived,
And your thoughts would be led astray;
Devotion to Christ not received,
That had caused you to disobey.
If someone comes as to proclaim,
Another Jesus than we know;
Different gospels not the same,
Confront by asking them to show.
I am at least not inferior,
What super-apostles have taught;
In no way am I superior,
Unto prophets that I have sought.
If I am unskilled in speaking,
I am not so in the wisdom;
For I know what I am seeking,
That can be found in His Kingdom.
Because of the knowledge I gain,
And thoroughly made manifest;
In all things, it has been made plain,
As you are living out your quest.
