Analysis of A letter to myself

Sometimes I look back at the past
I lay under the stars
Remembering how much time I put into perfecting myself
Surrounded by pressure and absolutely nothing else
The urge to have perfect hair, body, skin
Basically every part of me

But if I were to write a letter to myself
I’d definitely hesitate here and there
Yet I’d mention to let it all go
To embrace it all and let life slowly unfold
To accept the flaws and celebrate the perfections
To love the world and forget all my tensions
Maybe one day I’ll look back at this poem
And think of it as a letter to myself

About this poem

This poem was created taking into consideration all the pressure we feel due to the influence of social media and peers. I thought about what I would say to myself a few years ago and predicted how I would feel in the future regarding my old self. These interpretations eventually formed a poem. Or how I like to think of it; a letter to myself.
