Analysis of Realize

Realize.
That people who treated you bad and left were never meant to be a part of your forever.
Instead, they were a stage to make you ready for your forever.
Sometimes the ones you love the most and think will always be there are the one's who hurt you the worst and make you hate them when you don't want to hate anyone.
Sometimes it's a boy like y'all are probably thinking I'm referring to.
But sometimes it's the one that was supposed to raise and protect you.
Sometimes it can be yourself.
Sometimes it's that best friend that just decided to hate you.
Sometimes it's the people you thought you could trust but were iffy of.
Sometimes it's close family.
The people you trusted but treated you wrong, people telling you that those friends or family members or that girl or guy your with is treating you wrong, and you still love them and care for them and keep trying.
And keep breaking down
and hurting yourself
and crying
and hurting
and breaking
and doing things you know you shouldn't
and thinking about things you shouldn't want to do
and overthinking and being overly sensitive
and being fearful
and wanting to end everything.
Those people, the ones who make you feel that way
aren't the ones you need in your life.
You need a family that you can be goofy with but respect them and love them and not be afraid of them or afraid of messing up around them.
You need friends that PROVE that you can trust them over and over, the ones that tell you everything and open up to you with the darkest parts of themselves and you can do the same with them.
You need the boyfriend or girlfriend that doesn't make you feel like you always have to try to impress them or if you mess up you're a failure or you have to do what they say constantly to keep them happy or you don't love them.
You deserve to be happy. You deserve real love.
Realize.
You're worth more than they make you feel.

About this poem

This is a poem about worth and mistreatment. It's about what you may think love is versus the love you deserve. It briefly and indirectly speaks of narcissism within one's romantic, friendly, or familial relationships, along with internal negativity.
