Analysis of In one day

Born in a day, has it ever been heard!

Before she travailed, she gave birth.

Could he bring to the birth and shut the womb?

A nation born in a day.

Poor, contrite spirit, tremble at his word.

Delusions were chosen,

I called, no one would hear.

All are without excuses,

So on them comes their fear.

Joy! On my holy mountain,

On that very day

That I forgive their transgressions,

And wash their sins away.

There will be no more violence,

The lion will eat straw like the ox.

And all will be free from tyranny

And the earth be rid of the pox.
