Analysis of Trapped
Am I too broken, to be accepted
A loop, spinning like my mind,
No way out, trying to escape.
Knowing it all, but wishing I didn’t,
The burns, the ache, the scrapes.
Worrying, and trying to breathe,
I wonder if it was a mistake.
Breathing is just a distance gaze,
Chest pounding, feeling I will break.
Hopes and dreams, down the drain,
Like a gush of water pouring out.
Trying to scream out the pain,
Suffocating deeper, just wanting to shout.
Society’s expectations are too penetrating,
What if I shatter, what if I fall?
What if I break, and collapse
What do I do when I choose to leave?
I try to protect, but can it be,
what I feared, what I despise
I become to be?
