Analysis of Saskatchewan, the Untold prairies
A century ago,
The grasslands had fields of tall grass
Higher than a standing individual.
Tiger lilies smelt so sweet,
And home to thousands of species.
As time passed,
Settlers arrived to find such beautiful fields
And quickly began demolishing the ancient grounds.
Any animal they did not want around,
Became nonexistent.
What is left in the prairies is broken.
Creating fragments in the ecosystem,
And humans living in the prairies
Prevail to lost causes.
Lacking the inability
To notice the sustainability of species,
And irresponsibility to the ecosystem.
Once a haven of Indigenous grasslands,
Destroyed into fields of money.
