Analysis of Don’t believe

I guess I don’t believe in love
At least not anymore
I did when I was 3
I believed that it was like magic
Like everything would be fixed
If I just find that one person
And then again at 7
I though it would be like a bright sunny day
Like a ice cream sundae
Then finally at 10
I thought it would feel amazing
Like the best thing to ever happen
But when I hit 11 I realized
Love isn’t real
It’s an illusion told to kids
Until they finally open their eyes
And see the truth
That mom and dad don’t last
Or at least the love doesn’t
They fall apart slowly
At first it’s small
It’s disagreeing on the smallest things
It knowing the difference
The difference from a disagreement
To a fight
Sometimes they bring the kids into it
And when you try to find the one
You get let down
By cheaters
By people who can’t handle your baggage
By you
And the hole truth
Is that love will just let you down
So I don’t try anymore
Cuz it’s not worth
Handing someone my heart
For them just to stomp on it
For me to get hurt
So I let go
Before they have the chance to crush it
