Analysis of Expressions Of Regret
Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)
Hoping time for them is still left,
For expressions of regret.
Or heard to accept.
By anyone listening.
Giving time to care more.
Than the more caring less.
Knowing their expectations,
Have long been gone going on disrespected.
Remorse to feel,
Is difficult to mend and heal...
A past to have had.
Too real to conceal,
That which is known with emotions felt.
Revisited to remember,
Each step taken and meant done to do.
With this to reminisce.
Regardless of a forgiveness given.
Or apologies to hear,
Unable to erase with alibis used to excuse.
One's heart broken to break,
Is not easy to fix as if pieces of glass.
Glued back together.
To believe to go unnoticed,
Original pieces will never again fit.
As they were once to have been.
And the same goes for wounds inflicted.
Purposely done by someone else.
That someone else,
Hoping time for them is still left to express...
Remorse and regret.
Yet no time had they taken,
To recover and appear as if nothing to them...
Had happened at all.
Life to live can be a bowl of cherries.
If that bowl is homemade.
And the cherries are grown to pick!
