Analysis of Called by God
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
I would have you to know,
The Gospel that I preach;
Is not of man to show,
Rather for an out-reach.
It did not come from man,
Nor trying to teach it;
But revealing His plan,
How each one can acquit.
Revelation of Christ,
As you heard from time past;
Punished and sacrificed,
In being an outcast.
They persecuted the church,
As they tried to destroy;
While they tried to search,
Thinking Christ a decoy.
Many others my age,
So extremely zealous;
Traditions at that stage,
Each other was jealous.
But when it pleased the Lord,
Departing from the womb;
His grace was not ignored,
Keeping me from the tomb.
The Father did reveal,
His only Son was born;
To give spiritual zeal,
Here on earth to sojourn.
Allowing the heathen,
A chance to change their way;
And go into Heaven,
No longer go astray.
