Analysis of What's all this?

Valiantstar 1961 (Sydney)

What's
All this
Poetry?

What does it bring:

Truths, hidden insight,
Bring laughter and humour,
Start a fight or a rumour?

Deep, shallow, etched in life:

Mysteries hidden,
For poet's to write.

They find
It
Absurd.

There is power
And strength in the word.

Poet's may not agree
But there's liberty.

Rhyme, free, and prose:

Delivered
As words
Flow.

That's a crutch.
Doesn't really
Accomplish that much.

Wanting the world to see:

Look! Look! Look at me!

Swept away in
Vanity.

All
Those
Truly bold...
Surrendering
Brings out the gold!
