Analysis of Trusting in the Lord
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
O Lord, I lift up my soul,
Because in You I do trust;
And relinquish my control,
To avoid passions I lust.
Let me not be put to shame,
My foes triumph over me;
As I continue to proclaim,
And resist my enemy.
Let them regret what they do,
Be ashamed of transgression;
Understand what they pursue,
A treacherous aggression.
Help me to know of Your ways,
Teach me of Your narrow path;
So I can live out my days,
Experience, not Your wrath.
Lead me in Your truth to teach,
Teaching me Your salvation;
So I am able to teach,
Others build their foundation.
Remember Your steadfast love,
Comes from Your mercy and grace;
From of old come from above,
Attached to Your sweet embrace.
